FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. After a record-breaking year where he led the league in yards from scrimmage, Bijan Robinson has been named a finalist for the AP Offensive Player of the Year. This acknowledgment comes after Robinson wasvoted to the Pro Bowl Games for the second consecutive year,as well as becoming anAP First-Team All-Pro as a running backand a Second-Team All-Pro as an all-purpose player.
Robinson brokethe Falcons single-season recordfor yards from scrimmage with 2,298. That total led all NFL players this season and ranked 12th in league history.
He averaged 135.2 yards per game and gained more than 160 yards seven times. His highest total was 238 yards from scrimmage in the Falcons' Week 6 win against the Buffalo Bills. He again broke the 200-yard threshold in Atlanta's Week 17 victory against the Los Angeles Rams; Robinson gained 229 total yards in the game. He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after both performances.
Solely as a rusher, Robinson finished the year with a career-high 1,478 rushing yards, which ranked fourth in the league. As a receiver, he also notched a career-high 820 receiving yards, which was second most among his position group. He became just the second running back all-time to record at least 1,400 rushing yards and 800 receiving yards in a single season.
Robinson's totals are not too far off the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year regular season stats.Saquon Barkley was voted as the player of the yearlast February after he led all running backs in yards (2,005), carries (345) and yards per game (125.3).
Most recently, Jaxon Smith-Njigba was named the Offensive Player of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America. Meanwhile, Robinson along with offensive guard Chris Lindstrom and rookie safety Xavier Watts wasnamed to the PFWA's All-NFC Team.
As the votes are cast, though, for this all-important league award, Robinson makes a very strong case as one of the most electric offensive weapons of 2025.
