Federal government invests more than $2.1M in seven Island-based IT companies

As companies in Atlantic Canada continue to find global success, the region is emerging as a hub for the next generation of tech businesses and leaders. The Government of Canada is investing in this industry to drive innovation and productivity, create good jobs, and build a stronger economy.
On Friday, Sean Casey, Member of Parliament for Charlottetown, announced more than to $2.1M in repayable federal support for seven businesses in Prince Edward Island's tech sector. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
The event took place at The Foundry, a business incubator run by the PEI IT Alliance.
This investment will drive productivity and growth with faster product development, streamlined operations, and more export opportunities. Together, these projects will boost competitiveness and fuel the sector's contributions to a strong economy.
