Read the Game Breakdown for a full recap of what happened.

STATS TO CHEERS OVER

-- The Falcons' defense totaled seven sacks, its most in a single game since Atlanta's Week 15 win against the Arizona Cardinals in 2018. The Falcons had seven then, too, but across six players. Last Sunday, a franchise-high seven different players recorded a sack. That makes the Falcons one of two teams to have seven or more players get a sack in a single game this season. The other is the Denver Broncos.

-- Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier scored two 1-yard rushing touchdowns. He's now at six rushing touchdowns on the season, setting a new single-season high. The benchmark was four from 2023.

-- Falcons safety Jessie Bates III picked off Colts quarterback Daniel Jones in the second quarter, bringing his career total to 26 interceptions. He ranks fourth among all active NFL players in career interception total, trailing Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith (37), Chicago Bears safety Kevin Byard III (33) and Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Darius Slay (28).

-- The Falcons had 15 offensive plays go for at least 10 yards, tying for their most in a single game this season. The other two instances were the Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Week 5 win against the Washington Commanders.

-- The Falcons have scored a touchdown on seven consecutive red-zone drives dating back to the third quarter of their Week 7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. That's the longest active streak in the NFL.

FACTS TO SIP ON

-- Since getting drafted by the Falcons in 2024, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has seen three overtime games in his career. Last Sunday was his first chance to see the field during overtime. All three of Penix's overtime passes fell incomplete, though one play was wiped out due to a Colts' penalty. Penix was sacked once.

-- Atlanta did not covert a single third down against Indianapolis. The Falcons have now only converted eight of their 40 third-down plays in the last four losses. That's a20% success rate.

-- Colts running back Jonathan Taylor rushed for 244 yards, resetting a record from 2000for most rushing yards totaled by an opponent against the Falcons. Running back Mashall Faulk rushed for 208 in the Falcons' Week 7 loss to the then-St. Louis Rams.

-- After kicker Zane Gonzalez's 43-yard field goal in the third quarter, the Falcons officially hadthree different kickersmake a field goal for them this season. The other two were Younghoe Koo and Parker Romo. That type of trio has never happened in a single Atlanta season before.

-- The Falcons now hold a 3-6 record for the 12th time in franchise history. Out of the completed 11 seasons with that exact start, the most wins the Falcons went on to total was six (five times). They've never made the playoffs after a 3-6 start. In fact, only nine teams in NFL postseason history have ever made the playoffs after starting with a 3-6 record.

QUOTING RAHEEM MORRIS

On the loss overall

"We had plenty of opportunities to win it."

QUOTING THE FALCONS

Inside linebacker Kaden Elliss

On the team's outlook for second half of the season

"We're close. But with six losses, we can't be close anymore. It's time to get over the hump and start stacking some wins."

Wide receiver Drake London

On his initial reaction to the loss

"I don't feel great. I think I can speak for the rest of the team: They don't feel great either."

QUOTING THE OPPONENT

Colts head coach Shane Steichen

On linebacker Zaire Franklin in overtime, including the final sack on Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr

"He played lights-out for us. Obviously getting those sacks there, the tackles in the backfield. We knew Bijan (Robinson) was a hell of a runner going into this game and just trying to contain him as best we could, so I think we did a pretty good job there. And also, Zaire obviously getting a big-time play there at the end was huge."
