VIGAN CITY, Mar. 23 (PIA) - The City Government of Vigan reiterates the enforcement of strict social distancing measures in all open establishments, public or private, in the city while the entire Luzon is under enhanced community quarantine.
In Executive Order (EO) No. 11 issued by City Mayor Juan Carlo Medina, he ordered all open establishments providing basic necessities to practice stringent social distancing measures which is being implemented worldwide to slow down or stop the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The EO ordered establishments to ensure that customers maintain one-meter distance from each other; allow the entry of only one individual per household in the access of essential commodities; restrict the entry of customers when the one-meter distance requirement is not maintained; ensure the enforcement of strict screening protocols before the entry of customer, such as but not limited to temperature checking, sanitation practices; and practice regular disinfection procedures.
As a precautionary measure to avoid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a fast food establishment in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur placed a hygiene station at their entrance area. Customers, who undergo screening before entry, are also advised that they will only serve take out, drive thru and delivery transactions. Those related to food production such as but not limited to restaurants and carinderias shall only allow take out or delivery orders, provided that in the latter case, only one staff will deliver to the customer.
Relative to this, Mayor Medina also issued EO No. 10 enforcing stricter measures to manage the COVID-19 situation in the city to ensure public health and safety.
