LONDON, United Kingdom- The Heathrow Airport published its masterplan on Tuesday, which takes into consideration the construction of a third runway.
Construction of the addiitional runway will start in 2026, and its estimated year of completion is 2050.
The project is huge as it involves moving roads, diverting rivers, and rerouting the M25 into a tunnel underneath a newly constructed runway.
Despite facing a lot of opposition, the Heathrow airport expansion is supported by stakeholders and local communities.
The masterplan is demonstrated through a visualization created by professional architects and Heathrow airport's construction team.
The proposals are now open to the public for consultation; this will continue until September 13 this year, allowinging more people to take part in the discussion.
