Lily Allen 'gives up booze to be more ladylike onstage'

London, December 23 : Singer Lily Allen has decided to turn down the bottle while performing live gigs, saying she wants to be more ladylike.

The 24-year-old star confessed she had reduced her alcohol intake before facing fans because she wanted to be more elegant and graceful.

"When I started out, I'd drink four cans of cider on stage because I needed the confidence not to be judged," the Daily Express quoted her as telling Grazia magazine.

"But getting off my head (drunk) got me into trouble - I didn't understand why I couldn't be like (Oasis frontman) Liam Gallagher just because I was a girl.

"Now I'm happy being more of a lady," she added.
