Gazza could be crippled for life, fears his daughter
The London News.Net Wednesday 27th August, 2008 (ANI)
London, Aug 27 : The Daughter of troubled football star Paul Gascoigne, Bianca Gascoigne, is worried that stepdad Gazza could be crippled for life because he has missed vital hospital appointments during his boozy sessions.
The one-time football idol is in desperate need of another hip operation, the Daily Star quoted Bianca, as saying.
And she is so worried for his health that she fears he may never be able to walk again. The telly star told how Gazza, 41, who has been her father since she was three, is jeopardising his future health.
"He has got his hips out of place at the moment. He has even got to have an operation on his hip which he skipped but he's having it done soon," she said.
Gazza has missed important check-ups for his newly replaced hips after going off the rails in recent weeks, following his rocker pals Iron Maiden on their European tour.
The Daily Star discovered him holed up in hotel rooms across Eastern Europe and slumped in the back of tour buses, unable even to open his eyes.
Bianca, who is at home with mum Sheryl, 42, has told pals that if Gazza keeps ignoring the problem with his hips then he could be in a wheelchair for
ever.
It was Gazza's first hip operation last Christmas that sent the fallen star into such severe depression earlier this year, after he was told he would never kick a ball again. He hit the bottle and his downfall began. Gazza spent months on the booze and became a recluse.
Earlier this year he was sectioned and then had three weeks of treatment in a psychiatric hospital. But soon after being released, he was caught trying to drown himself in the bath of a London hotel.
He then checked into The Priory, and ex-wife Sheryl offered him a lifeline when she comforted him during the 100,000-pound two-month stint in rehab.
