The London News.Net Sunday 1st June, 2008 (big News Network.com)
Fashion guru, Yves Saint Laurent, has died in Paris at the age of 71.
Saint Laurent died on Sunday evening in the French capital, the Pierre-Berge-Saint Laurent Foundation announced.
Considered by many as the greatest fashion designer of the 20th Century, Saint Laurent changed the face of the fashion industry when he became chief designer of the House of Dior at 21 at a very early age.
He designed clothes for men and women, but started his career as a woman's designer, with clothes that reflected on how his clients chose to be regarded, both in the work place and in casual situations.
He retired from haute couture in 2002 and had been ill for some time. Email this story to a friend
